FAQs

1. What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded program in Australia that provides support to people with disability. It helps individuals access the services and support they need to live more independently, participate in the community, and achieve their goals.

2. Who is eligible for NDIS support?

To be eligible for NDIS, you must:
- Be under the age of 65.
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a protected special category visa.
- Have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to participate in everyday activities.

If you meet these criteria, you can apply for the NDIS and work with a planner to develop a personalized support plan.

4. How can I apply for NDIS?

To apply for NDIS, you can visit the NDIS website <www.ndis.gov.au> and submit an access request.

You'll be asked for information about your disability and how it impacts your daily life. After your application is processed, you will have a planning meeting to discuss your support needs.

3. How is funding managed under NDIS?

There are three ways to manage your NDIS funding:

▶︎ Self-managed: You manage your own NDIS budget and pay providers directly.
▶︎ Plan-managed: A plan manager handles the financial aspects of your plan, including paying providers and keeping track of your spending.
▶︎ NDIA-managed: The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) manages the funding for your plan and arranges payments directly to your providers.

We can assist you with plan management or provide guidance on how to best manage your funding.
